There’s no doubt that we are forever indebted to our veterans. However, after they serve, many veterans still find it challenging to build a “normal” life. That’s why Broward Technical College is committed to helping any and all veterans find a career they love by helping them get the education they need.
What are My Benefits as a Veteran?
The veterans’ assistance program at our school helps veterans cover education costs to let them get the education they need as affordably as possible. The assistance is referred to as the GI Bill. The GI Bill varies for each person, depending on your eligibility and serving status. However, there are multiple options you can apply for to help get as much cost covered as possible.
- Post-9/11 GI Bill
- Montgomery GI Bill
- Reserve Educational Assistance Program
- Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program
What Do I Need to Qualify?
There are standard GI Bill forms to complete and you can conveniently apply online. We are happy to help you with your application process too. To start, you need to have the appropriate documentation to apply.
- Certificate of Eligibility (updated version)
- Official Transcripts from any postsecondary training you have received
- DD214
How Much Assistance Will I Get?
There are several components to who qualifies for assistance and how much you will receive. The VA could cover your tuition and fees if you are Post-9/11 or Vocational Rehab. If you are needing more assistance, you can still apply for financial aid to help cover the remaining costs.
