Have you realized that your life could change drastically with a high school diploma? A GED® certification can open so many doors by giving you the education you need, all without having to uproot your life and schedule to go back to school.
How Do You Get a GED Certification?
To get a GED certification, you must pass four tests, which cover four different subjects. The subjects include Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning through Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. You can opt to take the tests online from your home or at a test center near you. Keep in mind, you don’t have to take all the tests at once or at the same location.
What if I Don’t Pass?
Each test has a total of 200 points possible and you need at least a 145 to pass. A higher score could afford you more opportunities and save you time and money when applying for college.
In Florida, there is no limit to how many times you can take the test. However, after you have retaken it twice, you have to wait 60 days before retesting.
- Score of 165-174 – may be exempt from placement tests or remedial courses in college
- Score of 175-200 – may be eligible to earn college credit
