We understand how important flexibility is for our students at Broward Technical College. They come to us with full-time jobs, with families, and with mountains of responsibilities. That’s why we provide a variety of online classes to allow you to take classes on your terms.
Learning online is certainly different than a traditional environment though, and our professors’ expectations can help set you up for success.
Stay Focused
With a million other things going on, focus is definitely key in online classes. If you can, find a designated space for class. Even if it’s at the kitchen table, a set spot can help keep you focused on the task at hand.
Minimize distractions too, if possible. Keep your phone out of reach, the TV off, and see if family members can stay busy with other things during class time.
Make it a Priority
It can be easy to let an online class or two slip by, which can make it so hard for you to get learn and retain the material. Don’t be fooled into thinking online courses will be much easier and won’t require any study time. We still have a set curriculum we need to cover, and we need you to make it a priority to learn it.
Ask Questions
Don’t be shy about asking questions! We know it can be tough to build a relationship with your professor online, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t just as eager to help you learn! You can always reach out with questions by email too, if you feel more comfortable doing that. If you need more one-on-one time, then ask us about our office hours.
Our technical colleges in Broward County, FL provide flexible learning options to help you reach your career goals with your life in mind. Have questions? Our team is happy to help!
